About this site
Uncanny is a publication exploring the intersection of humans, avatars, and the uncanny valley. Founded by Sarah Coward, a leader in conversational media with an interest in digital ethics and human-avatar interaction, Uncanny draws on her experience developing projects like The Forever Project, which preserves Holocaust survivor testimony, and her work at In The Room, which launched the world's first interactive digital portrait in collaboration with Universal Music and the National Portrait Gallery. Sarah's work has been featured in various publications, and she advises, publishes and speaks on the design and governance of authentic interactive experiences and digital humans.
Subscribe to Uncanny for thoughtful insights into the future of identity, presence, and authenticity in an age of intelligent machines. If you subscribe today, you'll get email newsletters about new content when it's available.
